Plum Headed Parakeet

Plum Headed Parakeet

The Sinhagad Valley Project

Yes I have a few images of this noisy beautiful bird, but somehow was in a graphic mood, so posting this one.
Taken in the first week of Jan 2013 in Sinhagad.
The sun was up, the light was strong and we spotted this chap with his friends on a tree across the field.
The parakeets were patient enough to wait for us as we hurried over.
Couple of shots and then they went along with their business, as did we 🙂
Note: Plum Headed Parakeets are endemic to the Indian subcontinent. The females have grey heads, unlike the males. Will post a picture soon.
