Red Throated Flycatcher

Red Throated Flycatcher

The Sinhagad Valley Project

This Red Throated Flycatcher (female) decided to take a dip right in front of my spot.

So with one eye on me, it would tentatively approach the water, take a really quick dip and hurry back to a safer distance.

This went on for a few minutes – good enough for me to get a few shots 🙂

I guess this would certify as my first shot of a lady taking a dip 😀

Note: The Asian species Ficedula albicilla previously considered a subspecies of the Red-breasted Flycatcher, is now separated as the Taiga Flycatcher or the Red Throated Flycatcher.
