Blue-Tailed Bee Eater

Blue-Tailed Bee Eater

The Blue-Tailed Are Back.

The birding season is just about to revive with the migratory friends beginning to make their respective appearances.

We have been chasing (well not exactly) the Blue Tailed Bee Eaters for the last 2 weeks now.

From days when 300-400 of them flock the place to mornings when we barely saw a dozen, the Blue-Tailed have played hard-to-get.

No it’s not that they fly away – just that the fellows choose the most unapproachable perches.

And yes, the light has played spoilsport very often.

Nevertheless, effort always pays.

So here’s a neat image of a Blue-Tailed Bee Eater from this Saturday’s trip to Bhandup Pumping Station.

He’s quite a looker, no?
